About

Hello! I am a qualified, experienced educator with a genuine passion for sociology. Over the past twelve years of teaching and tutoring sociology across several exam boards, I have developed a strong understanding of what it takes to help you navigate GCSE, IGCSE, and A-Level courses confidently, supporting you to achieve the highest grades. most students in the last year of tutoring achieved at least two grades above their mock prediction, after 12 weeks of weekly tutoring.

My teaching approach is firstly student-centred. I recognize that as a learner, you come with unique strengths, individual goals, and a distinct learning style. I work positively with students who have Special Educational Needs (SEN), ensuring that your lessons are structured, accessible, supportive, and designed to help you succeed. I create collaborative online classes tailored to how you learn best, aiming to work in partnership with you to help you understand complex sociological content and meet or exceed your personal achievement goals.

As an examiner, I am skilled in helping students to bridge the gap between understanding the material and excelling in the exam. I specialize in teaching and supporting students to develop their essay-writing skills and apply knowledge directly to exam questions to maximize marks. I also offer direct insight into what examiners look for in answers.

My twelve years of expertise includes six years of teaching the Cambridge International (CIE) A-Level and IGCSE syllabuses, so I can confidently support students following this course. I also offer Criminology A-level tuition support and recently worked in a college teaching A-level Criminology. In addition, I am skilled at supporting students with UCAS applications and am happy to discuss ways to improve your university statement.

Whether you are aiming for top marks, looking to refine your essay structure, or wanting to build confidence in your arguments, I provide the structured, expert support you need to succeed. To ensure we are a great fit, I offer a free initial needs chat to discuss your targets, followed by a half-price trial lesson.

If you are interested in cheaper group sessions, I will be running a small group of GCSE sociology students online with between 2-5 students. The cost will be 25 for 2-3 students or 20 for 4-5 students, twice weekly for home-educated students.

I am also interested in running group A-level sessions of between 2-5 students with the same charging model, based on interest, once again for home educated students and subject to interest. I would aim for 3 weekly lessons, with flipped learning homework tasks set each week.
