About
I am a primary school teacher from Yorkshire and a modern foreign languages graduate from the University of Edinburgh. I have spent time teaching EFL in France and Spain, and primary subjects in the UK, both in schools and as a private tutor. I now offer primary tuition services in person in the York area and online in maths, English, Spanish, EFL, and for 11+ entrance exams.
I have over 12 years of teaching experience as a classroom teacher in the UK, in nursery and primary schools in France and Spain, and as a private tutor both in the UK and abroad. I have experience in teaching all age groups from early primary to adults, in planning lessons, and carrying out assessments. I know how to encourage all students to achieve their full potential and believe that appropriate challenge and encouraging an enjoyment of learning is the key towards achieving success. During the first session, I discuss the needs of the child, and we set out a scheme of lessons to help them achieve their goals and objectives. I can provide homework to be completed outside of the sessions and will mark and give feedback on this as well.
I have a positive outlook and aim to develop a good rapport with all pupils and create a cooperative and calm atmosphere. I strive to deliver exciting and engaging lessons using familiar, real-life experiences, fun games, and tailored resources using a variety of teaching methods best-suited to each child. I am patient and flexible with my time, and I am willing to persevere in order to ensure that all students have fun whilst succeeding in reaching their goals.

Jenny has been tutoring my son for over a year. We are very pleased with her positive energy and the way she communicates. She is a very good tutor and very patient. My daughter has loved her since the first class. She has been teaching my daughter every week, and my daughter has never said she didn’t want to go to her lessons. She is more than happy to study. She looks forward to talking to Jenny every week. My daughter and I am grateful to have met her.

Very quick to respond when looking for a Tutor for my 11 year old daughter. Fantastic 1st meeting. Made my daughter totally at ease, we all felt we had made the right choice. Only had one meeting to hard to comment on my daughters progress.
