Scottish Higher is the standard Scottish sixth-year qualification, sat in S5 (age 16-17), and is the main route into Scottish university applications (which run on a different cycle from English UCAS). The qualification is administered by Qualifications Scotland (formerly the SQA, renamed February 2026), with coursework and examination components.
