I am a complete beginner and was looking for a teacher who could teach me both the theory and practical elements to playing piano. In the past I have had (guitar) tutors who simply asked me to pick a song and showed me how to play it. As my main goal is to be able to pick up any piece of music, understand it and play it I was looking for something much more informative and in-depth from a piano tutor. Maggie is a fantastic tutor and has ticked all for the boxes. She understands I am new and has been very patient with me. She knows what I am looking to get out of my learning and has provided me with a good balance of theory and practical knowledge. After each lesson it is very clear to me what I can work on during the coming week to improve for my next lesson and if I am ever in need of advice I am free to email Maggie who responds to my emails promptly and answers in full. I have also noticed that she is not eager to end the call when my hour is up and ensures we've finished discussing our current topic first. This tells me she's motivated to helping me learn. Maggie always brings positivity each week and it is a pleasure being taught by her!
