Tutors can now choose who is able to unlock their contact details, a new layer of protection against scam and phishing messages, a faster profile editor, and a minimum-reviews filter for parents.

We have added three new trust checks for parents this last week. Tutors can now have the option to have their qualifications verified, and be awarded a Qualified Teacher badge on their profile, and every tutor is asked for two references before their profile goes live. We've also reworked the profile editor and tidied up how profiles with lots of subjects display.

Original analysis of 24,183 UK tutor profiles from the First Tutors archive. Headline finding: confidence is mentioned 27× more often in reviews than grade improvement.
Community updateUpdate: Expanded review imports
The initial extraction from the archives was incomplete. Detective work and helpful tutor feedback has vastly increased the number available, and a couple of related updates on aggregate scores and the importer's photo gate.
Community updateFirst Tutors reviews, back on your Tutorperch profile
Tutorperch now holds an archive of 19,631 First Tutors profiles and 37,724 reviews, captured between 2011 and 2026 from the Internet Archive and Common Crawl. The most exhaustive set of verifiable First Tutors reviews available, claimable onto your Tutorperch profile through a short import wizard tool.
