Why book through Tutorperch
No commission
Pay £9.99 once to unlock contact-sharing with one tutor. We don't take a cut of the lessons after that.
Manual DBS review
Every DBS certificate is reviewed by hand. Badges run for three years before re-verification. (PVG and AccessNI cover Scotland and Northern Ireland.)
Refund if no agreement
If you and the tutor never agree a lesson after unlocking, the £9.99 is refunded.
The cost difference
The cost of commission, in pounds.
Commission-based platforms take 15–35% of what the parent pays, on every lesson, for as long as you keep booking. We charge £9.99 once. Over a course of lessons the gap turns into real money.
Through a commission-based platform
£800
20 × £40.00/hr
The tutor takes home £30/hr and the platform keeps 25% of every lesson you pay for.
Through us
£610
20 × £30/hr + £9.99 unlock
You save £190 over a 20-lesson course.
Worked example: 20 lessons with a tutor who takes home £30/hr, with the platform keeping 25% of what the parent pays, the middle of the 15–35% range.
