Accessibility

Last updated: 2026-06-07

We want everyone to be able to find a tutor and use Tutorperch, including people who rely on assistive technology such as screen readers, keyboard navigation, or screen magnification. This page explains the standard we work towards and how to reach us if something isn't working for you.

The standard we meet

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. We test our main journeys against that standard with automated tooling (axe-core) and fix what it finds, and Tutorperch substantially conforms to WCAG 2.2 AA. Automated testing can't prove every success criterion, so we describe this as substantial rather than full, certified conformance. Last tested: 2026-06-07.

What we've built in

  • A "skip to content" link so keyboard users can jump past the navigation.
  • Semantic, labelled HTML and accessible interactive components.
  • Respect for your operating system's "reduce motion" setting, which turns off non-essential animation.
  • Colour contrast tuned to meet AA on body text.
  • A site language set for screen readers (British English).

Known limitations

Two things sit outside this. Automated testing doesn't catch every screen-reader nuance, so if something reads awkwardly with assistive technology we want to hear about it. And the card-payment step is hosted by our payment provider (Stripe), so its accessibility is theirs rather than ours. If you hit a barrier anywhere, please tell us and we'll prioritise a fix.

Getting help or reporting a problem

If you have trouble using any part of Tutorperch, or you need information in a different format, email hello@tutorperch.com or use our contact form. Tell us the page you were on and what went wrong, and we'll aim to respond within 10 working days. Where it's reasonable to do so, we'll provide the content you need in another format.
