I'm going into my 3rd year at the University of Oxford, studying for a master's in physics. I achieved 4 A* grades at A-level in maths, further maths, physics and Spanish.

I've tutored regularly since February of 2025, teaching around 320 lessons to 14 different students, predominantly online, including acting as the primary maths teacher to a homeschooled student.

My style of teaching has always been focused on building a strong relationship with the tutee, making the lessons a part of their week they look forward to. I'm very patient as a tutor, and always try to emphasise conceptual understanding, sharing the details I found most satisfying and engaging while at school. A big part of this is being able to recognise links between different topics, especially in maths where the ideas are so interconnected.

My preferred lesson structure involves a student at least having a go at some questions I'll set in advance of a class, getting some ideas down on paper so we have a starting point to build upon. Within the classes, I aim to let the student lead the problem solving once any new content has been explained, jumping in where needed to help them get at the needed ideas.

I'm available to help over the summer up until October (I can't promise to be able to continue beyond October while at university). Of course, the summer holidays shouldn't be entirely dedicated to work, but I feel the long stretch of time should be taken advantage of to shore up weaknesses and/or get ahead to start next year with momentum.
