About
I’m a mathematician and experienced tutor with around ten years of teaching experience. I have a PhD in Pure Mathematics from the University of Exeter and studied Mathematics at Scuola Normale Superiore in Pisa, graduating with 110/110 magna cum laude. I later worked as a postdoctoral researcher specialising in algebra and number theory.
I teach KS3, GCSE, A-level and Further Maths, as well as university mathematics. My own passion for mathematics began through Mathematical Olympiads, where I achieved international-level success.
My teaching focuses on understanding rather than memorising procedures. I want students to understand why mathematics works and develop the confidence to tackle unfamiliar problems independently. I adapt lessons to each student's needs, whether that means filling gaps in their knowledge, preparing for exams or exploring more challenging mathematics.
I particularly enjoy helping students who have come to believe that they are simply “not good at maths”. With the right explanation, patience and encouragement, I often find that students discover they are capable of much more than they thought.

Our 17 year old son studies Maths and further Maths at 6th form. To achieve as good grades as possible, with the view to gain a university place of choice, he wanted to try tutoring sessions, in further Maths. He has now recieved tutoring for about 6 months, weekly, and his self confidence and test results have both improved, Fabio is clearly skilled at teaching and is flexible around the student's learning requirements and explains in ways our son understands. Fabio is also flexible with timings, which is helpful for busy families. We will continue with the sessions all the way to to the final exams, it is exactly the additional support our son needs. We would like to recommend Fabio for maths and further maths tutoring.
