About
An example of some of the successes include a pupil moving from a predicted grade 6 to a grade 9 and another moving from a 5 in his December mock exam to a grade 8 in his March mock exam, gaining the award for most improved result in the whole school and then went on to achieve a 9 in his GCSE's. Another pupil who moved from a grade 2 to a grade 4. In total I had 14 final year students in 2017, 18 in 2018, 21 in 2019, 25 in 2020 and 23 in 2021, 26 in 2022, 18 in 2023, 12 in 2024 and 14 in 2025 who all improved their grade and achieved grades 4-9 (C-A*+).
Please note the cost advertised here are for online lessons, face to face lessons will incur extra fees. The advertised price is for 1 hour (except KS2 lessons which are 40 minutes), I also offer shorter lessons which can be 40 minutes or 50 minutes at a reduced cost. You can take the option to spread the cost of term time lessons over 12 months (or less if appropriate). For example 36 online lessons at 40 minutes per lesson works out to be 12 payments of £90 per month.
Approach
I want all my students to be able to develop their understanding of mathematics rather than just learning how to answer a question. Confidence breeds success. I try to work with their class teacher in following the methods they are being taught at school but also realise that different methods may be appropriate if they are struggling. I set homework weekly which is assessed at the start each session unless it is a longer piece or exam paper which is taken away and marked and brought back to the next session. I plan topics which are linked to previous learning in order to develop the bigger picture of mathematics but have excellent subject knowledge so I'm able to change my plan if the student wishes to look at another area that might have arisen as a problem in school/college. I also like my students to be proactive and get in touch if they wish to cover a particular topic which wasn't mentioned at the end of the previous session. I have a good relationship with all the people I tutor, they are at ease to ask questions and all opportunity to praise is used to help raise confidence. My tutoring sessions are planned and individualised for the students needs. Homework booklets, workbooks and worksheets are provided for every session.

I would definitely recommend Jason. My daughter was on target to get a 4 in Maths and has just received her results and has achieved a 6! Jason has increased my daughter's confidence. We couldn't be more impressed by the tuition Jason provided. Our son James was in the first cohort of the new 9-1 GCSE and was achieving a low grade 4 in November of year 11.
