About Me Hi, I’m Zayan! I am a dedicated and highly experienced tutor specialising in Mathematics (up to A-Level) and the Sciences (Physics, Chemistry, and Biology at GCSE). I am currently going into my third year studying Computer Science at the University of Birmingham, having achieved A*AAA at A-Level in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and the Advanced Welsh Baccalaureate. Having successfully navigated the rigorous UK exam system, I know exactly what it takes to excel, and I am passionate about helping my students unlock their full academic potential.

My Experience & Mentorship I bring over 500 hours of tutoring experience to my classes, having successfully taught students both online and in person. However, my expertise goes beyond simply knowing the syllabus. Having previously worked professionally as a Head of Pastoral Care, I understand the immense pressure students face today. I specialise in helping students manage exam anxiety, build their academic confidence, and develop a resilient mindset. I pride myself on maintaining a patient, supportive environment where students feel completely comfortable asking questions and making mistakes.

My Teaching Methodology I do not believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. My teaching is heavily focused on steady academic progression, and my style is highly flexible and personalised to suit how each individual learns best.

• Targeted Progression: We systematically master foundational concepts before tackling complex, multi-step problems.

• Exam Readiness: Once core knowledge is secure, we focus heavily on past paper questions, dissecting mark schemes, and optimising time management so you know exactly how to secure maximum marks.

• Adaptable Pacing: Standard lessons run for 60 minutes, providing an optimal balance for focused learning. However, I am fully flexible to meet your schedule, and many of my students choose to increase to intensive 2-hour sessions in the immediate run-up to mock or final exams.

What to Expect in Lessons I truly believe that the best learning happens when students are genuinely engaged, which is why I make sure my sessions are not only highly effective but also fun and enjoyable. While my ultimate priority is always ensuring you achieve the exact grades you are aiming for, I keep the atmosphere relaxed and relatable so you actually look forward to our lessons.

Outside of my university studies and tutoring, I’m big on staying active-you will usually find me playing football or hitting the gym. I bring that same positive, motivated energy into our classes, ensuring we build your confidence, enjoy the process of learning, and ultimately get you the results you need!
