About
I am a native French speaker, a qualified language teacher( French & Spanish) with over 30 years' experience of teaching in schools and tutoring, as well as examining A level students in school (visiting examiner for one of the major exam board) and marking G.C.S.E and A level examination papers.
I tutor students of all ages, from students preparing for the common entrance examinations, or G.C.S.E, A levels and DELF examinations to undergraduates and adults wishing to learn a language from scratch or improve their existing competence. I teach them the language they need to communicate effectively and confidently when travelling abroad or living in France/Spain. A lot of people do realize the importance and enjoyment of being able to communicate with the people of the country they are visiting or in which they wish to live.
I also give conversation classes. As I am passionate about language learning and teaching my aim is to make each lesson fun and productive. I have delivered courses for the MOD and taught French in primary schools and after-school clubs.
Tutoring approach:
My primary aim is to make my lessons fun and productive and to do so, I use a variety of materials and games to facilitate learning and speaking. I am friendly, patient and have a good sense of humour. I tailor my lessons to every individual need, as I tutor students with different requirements and levels, from students working towards exams as well as people learning the language to help them enjoy holidaying or living abroad.
Tutoring for me is a job I find immensely rewarding as I can see my students' confidence, knowledge as well as enjoyment grow in a very short space of time.
My students appreciate the documents I write for them and my friendly approach. I help them gain confidence by going back to the basics when required and providing the encouragement they need. Younger and older students also like my interactive approach to tutoring them. I cover all skills but focus mainly on the speaking skills during all my lessons. I also try and make my lesson fun and enjoyable, using Power points and videos.
I also give conversation lessons to adults who are beginners as well as advanced learners.

I have been delighted with Murielle's dedicated and professional approach, targeted questioning and patience. In a 1to1 setting my son feels he can comfortably ask questions, recap knowledge gaps in learning and approach Murielle if he has not understood something at school. Murielle is a very professional hardworking tutor which I sincerely recommend for anyone who is looking for a French Tutor. My daughter did so well in French in her GCSEs this year. She was working at grade 5 at school. She first started online tuition in January this year and within 5 months upto her GCSEs she achieved Grade 8. Murielle assessed her in her first session and was able to know where my daughter stood. Murielle gave her a personalised tailored tuition which helped her in areas where she was struggling. She has personalised work sheets which helped my daughter to organise and see where she was struggling. Within a few sessions, my daughter was progressing very well and getting confidence in French. She gained confidence in everything- Speaking, Writing, Listening and Reading. In Writing she had very low grade 3 in December before she joined, and now she achieved Grade 9 in Writing in a matter of 5 months!
