About
My previous law background, International Relations, and Master of International Economic Law provides me with the expertise to help, and guide further particularly A level students. Have been teaching GCSE and IGCSE for 25 years, being an Examiner helps me to know with precision what my students need to learn with view to achieve good grades in their exams.
Having dynamism, warmth, dedication and commitment make me an ideal teacher/tutor who strives to inspire students to be motivated learners as well as to achieve excellent results in Spanish. My passion for the language and culture as well as to see young people thrive and achieve their full potential helps greatly.
The majority of my tutees have over the years achieved A*/A on their A levels, and 9/8 on their GCSE (from 2017 to 2025). So far, my GCSE/IGCSE students have been able to achieve 2/3 grades above their predicted grades and at A level normally two grades above.
I am of the Tutors Association too.
Tutoring experience
For sixteen years I taught in a wide range of schools, independent and state, as well as at higher education level, including at Warwick University. I have been Head of Spanish and as mentioned above I have an excellent knowledge of a range of exam boards.
My teaching is student-centred, aimed to meet the needs of each individual learner, and uses techniques that work and achieve results. I vary my activities in order to suit a variety of learning needs and styles.
For the last nine years I am dedicated to private tuition as well as being an Examiner. I am really glad to say that most of my students have achieved successful results in both their GCSE and A level exams.
I am delighted to say that my last cohort of GCSE students achieved 9 most of them, a couple got 7s. In A level, two students achieved A*s. One of the mother’s said: “I just wanted to drop you a quick email to let you know that xxxx got an A* in his Spanish A Level!. We are all so pleased! Thank you so much for the vital part you have played in this- you have been amazing! Thank you again so much! You are a fabulous teacher!
Tutoring_approach
My students considered me a nurturing, dedicated tutor who meets the individual learning needs of each student.
Firstly, my approach is to assess the student's level, and to establish clearly what they want to accomplish, and what is required to achieve their aims, they desired grade. Only then I proceed to start working with the student to fill gaps in their knowledge, improve areas of weakness and stretch them to achieve their full potential. Needless to say, that each lesson is lesson tailor- made to the individual needs of the student.

Highly Recommended Spanish Tutor Alicia tutored and coached my son in the six months leading up to his final A-Level exams in Spanish. Each tuition session was tailored for specific areas for improvement and she provided exercises to help my son to continue to practice and improve on those areas between the weekly sessions. She also helped him to effectively structure his revision and was able to provide practical guidance on how best to approach each of the exams. With the academic support, coaching and encouragement from Alicia he succeeded, this Summer, in achieving the A-Level grades he required to continue to study Spanish at University.

I contacted Alicia to help with Spanish over the summer. My daughter, who had just completed year 11 was a bit worried about coping with the change in difficulty for A-Level Spanish. She need not worry as Alicia is an excellent tutor. She has been calm and patient. All difficult topics have been explained really well with great attention to detail. she is thorough, makes complicated methods easy to understand and does not move on to the next topic till she is absolutely confident that my daughter has understood the current topic. Superb resources. Not only is Alicia very flexible and accommodating but she is also very organised with proper structure to lessons. I have found the whole experience to be incredibly reassuring and provided my daughter does the work, she will flourish under her guidance.

Alicia is an excellent tutor. She is very knowledgable regarding GCSE syllabus and exam requirements and her lessons are well planned and expertly communicated. I receive the relevant documents for each lesson prior to every lesson and a follow up email after each lesson to give me an overview of what was covered and how my daughter is progressing. My daughter is really enjoying the tutoring and is already seeing improvements in her understanding (after 3 lessons). We haven't had lessons with Alicia for very long. However, we can say that she is always on time, we get a lot of different materials and resources that my daughter can work with. Alicia tutors GCSE, A-level and University students. She has been working with our son in Year 10 for the last 3 months to improve his Spanish grade. He has made so much progress in the last 3 months, his 'working at grade' already up from a 6 to an 8, we couldn't be happier. She sets him homework every week and sends us a detailed report after each lesson. We cannot recommend Alicia highly enough.
