About
With a 2:1 degree in Economics from Reading (2009) I have been tutoring for over 10 years now. Having started with just one student, I have gone on to teach over 50 students (from multiple websites) across the Reading, Marlow, Wokingham and Maidenhead areas.
Unlike other tutors, I only specialise in the subject I am qualified in and so only offer Economics tuition, meaning I`m up to date with the latest areas and syllabus requirements. I have taught students across Edexcel, OCR & AQA and had very good success with my students as my feedback shows.
Students come to me with different needs that range from:
Wanting to gain those extra few marks to reach a top grade
Struggling with the basic concepts and needing intensive support
Generally, a good understanding, but wanting to brush on a few areas
Understanding the topics, but struggling with exam technique
Lacking confidence and facing exam re-sits
Whatever the goal, I have never met a student whom I haven't been able to help improve.

How we verify these

My daughter likes the fact that they are student ied and she can ask about any topic that needs addressing. Also Andrew explains difficult and theoretical concepts clearly so that she understands them and makes the subject interesting by using real world examples.

My son has recently started A-level economics tuition with Andrew and is finding the sessions really useful. He had been frustrated when his school teachers didn't have time to explain the more difficult concepts to him, so it has been very helpful to have Andrew take the time to explain them, which he does really clearly. He is feeling more confident now about Economics, the weakest of his three A-levels. He finds Andrew very approachable and I would definitely recommend him.

In a short period of time Andrew has boosted my son's confidence in economics by explaining topics that were not given enough time in school. Virtual online lessons are working well. There's no time wasted getting settled and the sessions are significantly more effective than the online schooling during COVID lock-downs as the tutoring is 1 to 1.
