About
Struggling with a tricky topic, aiming for a grade, or trying to get into a course everyone said was a reach? Need supervision for a coursework project? Whatever stage you are at, I can support you to achieve your goals.
If you're studying for school exams, GCSE, IGCSE, Scottish Highers, International Baccalaureate or A Level, in computer science, chemistry, physics, maths or further maths, I'll work with you to get up to speed with the material. Together we'll sharpen your exam technique until it's robust and systematic, tackling problems methodically and setting your answers out in a way that gives examiners every reason to award you the marks. I'll train you in methods to check your own working and catch mistakes, and build a strategy that's bespoke to you, timing, question order, all of it.
If you're aiming higher and applying for a course that needs one of the bespoke maths exams, the UK Maths Challenge, MAT, STEP or the TMUA, I can help you prepare specifically for that. These exams need a completely different kind of preparation to normal schoolwork, and it's exactly the kind of thing I specialise in.
Struggling with a university module? Need more supervision and mentoring during your coursework or final year project? I can help, I've supported students across a number of technical degrees, maths, physics, engineering, robotics and biomedical sciences, including the coding and stats behind the write up, in Stata, R or Python (pandas, numpy, scipy). I can also help you with your dissertation or thesis. Get in touch if you need support at university.
A bit about me: I'm a dedicated one to one personal tutor, specialising in chemistry, physics and maths, with over a decade of teaching experience. I studied physics at university, hold a masters in physics and maths, and a PhD in applied maths. I'm a native English speaker and comfortable working with students of all ability levels.
Whatever level you're at, my aim is the same, get you actually understanding the material, not just getting through it.
I'm happy to discuss pricing depending on how many sessions type of sessions you want and how often, it varies a lot by situation. Your first session is 50% off, so it's a low risk way to see if we're a good fit.

I was struggling with a particular module at Masters level and Arthur prepared me very well for my final exam. My son is studying A level Physics and is midway through his second year. He has been seeing Arthur for around 3 months and rates Arthur very highly indeed. Arthur is great at explaining difficult concepts and pays particular attention to improving my son's exam technique.
