Qualified Medical Doctor - Experienced Tutor
About
I am a qualified medical doctor and experienced tutor with a strong track record of helping students succeed across a range of academic levels. I attended Westminster School, where I achieved 13 A*s at GCSE level. I completed an MBBS in Medicine and Masters in Clinical Endocrinology (Distinction) at Barts and the London.
I teach Maths, English and Science up to GCSE, and specialise in preparation for 7+, 11+ and 13+ entrance exams for leading independent schools, including St Paul’s Boys’ School and North London Collegiate School (NLCS). I also provide guidance for medical school applications, including the UCAT exam in which I scored in the top 10% nationally.
I have worked with students from some of the UK’s top schools, including Eton, Westminster and St Paul’s, supporting both academic performance and confidence.
My approach is structured, encouraging and tailored to each student’s individual learning style and goals. Please reach out if you have any questions.

Reviews from First Tutors
Imported from Dr Alexander R.'s First Tutors profile before the site went dark. Shown separately from Tutorperch reviews — today they don't feed this tutor's Tutorperch rating or ranking.
How we verify these
Each imported review went through admin review. The tutor proved ownership of the First Tutors profile via one of two paths:
- Photo match. The First Tutors avatar matched the tutor's identity-verified Tutorperch photo, confirmed by admin.
- Cryptographic email check. The tutor uploaded an original First Tutors email (.eml). We verified the DKIM signature against First Tutors' signing keys and cross-checked the embedded tutor ID against the claimed profile.
The review text is the original reviewer's own words, quoted as-is. We verified the tutor's ownership of the profile, not the truth of what each individual reviewer wrote.

We are incredibly grateful for the support Alex has provided to our daughter, who has been struggling with maths due to her dyslexia. From the very first session, Alex demonstrated a remarkable ability to connect with her, making the learning experience not only productive but also enjoyable. His patience and understanding have significantly boosted her confidence, allowing her to approach maths with a more positive attitude. Alex's sessions are well-organized and structured, which has helped her grasp concepts that once seemed daunting. We appreciate his reliability and commitment to our daughter's progress, and we wholeheartedly recommend him to other parents looking for a dedicated and effective tutor. We will definitely continue to use his services! Thank you, Alex, for making such a positive impact on her learning journey!
