About
I'm Lynn, and I am a specialist A level Biology tutor. I have been tutoring A level Biology for over 16 years. I have regularly tutored AQA, OCR A, Edexcel (Salters Nuffield and specification B) and Eduqas specifications - both in person and online. I began tutoring after a 15-year immunology research career, where my research was focused on neonatal immunology at the biochemical and molecular level, and I have 14 published papers in national and international journals. I love all aspects of biology and enjoy passing on my enthusiasm to those I teach. I am friendly and approachable, and my aim to make biology understandable - even the hardest topics. I adapt my tuition to suit each individual student, whether they want to concentrate on tricky topics, concentrate on past paper questions and exam technique, or or a use a combination of both.
I tutor using Zoom and an online whiteboard (BitPaper) which doesn't require any software. It can be very helpful for a student to have access to a graphics tablet so I can see what they are writing, but it isn't a requirement. After each lesson, I review what we have covered in the session and email a pdf of the BitPaper document.
I am available to contact between sessions, so students feel fully supported with their biology A level - like a tutor in your pocket! Sometimes a WhatsApp message can help a student with a homework problem for example.

How we verify these
Each imported review went through admin review. The tutor proved ownership of the First Tutors profile via one of two paths:
- Photo match. The First Tutors avatar matched the tutor's identity-verified Tutorperch photo, confirmed by admin.
- Cryptographic email check. The tutor uploaded an original First Tutors email (.eml). We verified the DKIM signature against First Tutors' signing keys and cross-checked the embedded tutor ID against the claimed profile.

The tutoring lessons that I received were delivered enthusiastically; making them both enjoyable and hugely beneficial.
