I’m Dr Neri, a full-time professional and specialist mathematics tutor with over 9 years of experience helping students succeed in mathematics. I have a proven track record of delivering results for those who are struggling with the subject, and my strong work ethic is reflected in the written reviews about me.

My formal academic qualifications include:

• PhD in Applied Mathematics,

• MMath Mathematics (1st class honours),

• A-Levels in Maths / Further Maths / Business Studies, and

• 9 GCSEs (A*-C).

I primarily teach mathematics at GCSE / IGCSE / A-Level / IB / SQA / Admissions Test / Undergraduate levels, but I also welcome and encourage requests in other contexts.

I fully understand and relate to students who are struggling in mathematics. It is a subject which can be very computational or counter-intuitive -- but also extremely rewarding. As a GCSE student, I was behind in a class that wasn’t among the top sets in ability, and at one point my grades were below a pass. However, with focused effort and reformed study, I managed to turn it around within a year and get grade A, and have become passionate with the subject ever since. At A-Level, I studied Maths and Further Maths which allowed me to begin my MMath degree at Loughborough University in 2016. After my Undergraduate studies, I completed a PhD in Applied Mathematics graduating in 2025. Throughout my Undergraduate and Postgraduate studies, I have deeply committed to helping students improve in mathematics, and I now tutor full-time using effective strategies and teaching methods.

In each of my lessons, I draw on my many years of experience including:

• Teaching content in line with the full national specification standard for GCSE / A-level / IB / SQA courses.

• Identifying knowledge gaps and providing a plan to address these within an appropriate timeframe.

• Providing valuable exam technique, time management training, and knowledge of what examiners want to see.

• Improving confidence for students who feel behind.

• Helping students improve by 1-3 grades within a short period of time.

• Guiding students to success in TMUA and STEP admissions tests.

• 4 years of undergraduate seminar teaching, including supervision of projects and academic writing.

• Two published academic papers published from my PhD thesis, specialising in the field of nonlinear waves.
