About
I’m an experienced tutor and financial-services professional with 17+ years of tutoring experience, supporting students across Maths, English Language & Literature, Art & Design, and Photography, from primary level through to GCSE and A-Level.
I personally achieved straight A*s at GCSE including one of the top five marks in the country for English Literature and 100% in my Mathematics final and similarly, am dedicated in helping students obtain their maximum potential.
Alongside tutoring, I have spent more than a decade working in the financial-services industry, including senior roles at Citibank and the London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG). My professional career has involved working with institutional investors, banks, corporations and financial-market professionals, specialising in financial markets, analytics, data and technology.
At Citi, I worked across institutional sales, business development, financial markets and analytics, including helping clients understand complex financial products, data and quantitative tools. I also worked internationally with teams and clients across London, Singapore and New York. More recently, at LSEG, I have worked as an AI & Analytics Specialist Sales professional, helping financial institutions understand and apply data, analytics and AI solutions.
This professional experience has strengthened my ability to explain complex ideas clearly and adapt my communication to different audiences — skills that I bring directly into my tutoring.
I have also taught A-Level students at a private sixth-form school, where all of my students achieved an A grade, and I have extensive experience supporting SEN students and adapting lessons to different learning needs, abilities and learning styles.
My tutoring approach is friendly, patient and personalised. I focus on building confidence as well as improving academic performance, identifying gaps in understanding and developing effective exam technique.
I tutor Maths, English Language & Literature, Art & Design and Photography, with particular experience at GCSE and A-Level. I offer both online and face-to-face tuition across East London and Essex.
Whether a student needs help catching up, preparing for exams, improving their confidence or aiming for the highest grades, I tailor each session to their individual goals.

We engaged Emily to provide some additional tutoring in Literacy for our 7 year old daughter over the Easter holidays who was lacking confidence in her writing skills in particular. We found that our daughter really enjoyed the sessions and does seem to have increased enthusiasm for writing. Emily has a very gentle approach that our daughter responded well to. We would definitely look to Emily to provide more tutoring for our daughter in the future.
