About
I am a native of India from the state of Punjab who has been living in U.K for over 40 years. I am fluent in three languages - Hindi, English and Punjabi. I specialise in teaching conversational Hindi and Punjabi and have over 14 years encompassing over 2,000 hours of teaching experience.
I offer one to one teaching and teaching in a group. I have extensive experience in both online teaching and face to face teaching so I am best placed to support people who like to learn in the comfort of their own home and those who want face to face teaching.
Since I teach the conversational part of the language (which involves listening, understanding, conversing, group discussion, vocabulary building, grammar, pronunciation, sentence structure and various other aspects of effective communication) it is an interesting way of teaching and learning because I teach through talking.
I`m experienced in teaching professionals(actors, dentists, doctors, retired and semi retired people, students and lots more). I have done workshops in primary schools about India, Indian languages, Indian culture, Indian festivals, Indian food and lots more so if you are interested in learning about Indian culture, I am happy to support you.
I have a holistic approach to teaching which I have gained from years of experience in teaching my students alongside having completed a Level 3 Life Coaching course. This helps me to identify my students objectives, motivations and preferred learning style. I have consistently received feedback from my students that my lessons are interesting, engaging and that they learn a lot. I take a great deal of pride in my work. I understand that each student is different so am flexible in my approach to teaching as all my lessons are tailor made according to the individual needs of my students.
My students are located all over the world and in lessons my goal is to enhance their strengths and work on their weaknesses.
I appreciate that the language learning journey does not stop after our lessons and so I offer 24/7 support through email. If you have a question you do not need to wait till your next session. I am always happy to help you.
I offer a discount for group sessions.

I offer a complimentary consultation to my new potential students so that we get to know each other better and it helps me to prepare the lessons according to the needs of my students. I’ve only had 4 lessons with Richa but am really happy with them so far and feel like I’ve learnt so much already. She is incredibly patient and ensures you get the most out of each lesson without overloading you with information. I was quite nervous doing something like this as I have never done it before. However, Richa is very understanding and works to your pace of understanding. She is good at relating what you’re learning to you and how you can incorporate what you learn into your daily life - what’s relevant to you. After a month or so of online Hindi lessons, I am confident in saying that Richa is a great teacher. She quickly understands and adjusts to your level and pace, and has a good balance of making you feel comfortable but also gently challenging you when she feels you are ready to go further. She picks up on things you haven't yet grasped and makes sure to return to them again until you understand it fully - to me, this is a sign Richa has years of experience. It has been a great experience being Richa's student so far. She has made me feel super confident in my progress and I really look forward to our classes and her positive energy.

Richa has been a great teacher so far - her classes are focussed but a lot of fun as well. I wanted to learn Punjabi so that I could speak it conversationally with family members and with each of her classes I feel I am gaining more confidence to do this. She challenges me where she knows I will be able to work out the sentence and she helps me a long when she can see that I need a little more time to work on something.
