Hi! I'm Harvey, a Physics student at the University of Oxford. I've been tutoring maths and physics for around three years, working with students at both GCSE and A-level.

I achieved 4 A*s at A-level in Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Spanish, as well as eleven grade 9s at GCSE. Having gone through these exams fairly recently myself, I'm very familiar with the courses and what students need to do to improve their grades.

How I teach

I try to make lessons very interactive rather than simply talking through content. I'll usually explain a concept, work through examples with the student, and then get them to tackle questions themselves, giving hints and guidance where needed. I also adapt lessons depending on what the student is struggling with at school or what they have coming up.

For maths and physics in particular, I think understanding why something works is much more useful than just memorising a method. Once the underlying idea makes sense, we can build up to harder exam-style questions and work on applying it under exam conditions.
