- Google Meet and Google Document are used spontaneously for online tuitions so that I can leave the grammar notes, Kanji and main transcription on the Google Doc so that learners can revise later.
- A 'no-obligation' weekly homework are normally issued unless you opt out, from over 30 textbooks and workbooks which I have accumulated over the years.
- Lessons are normally 1 to 2 hours, and continue throughout the year including school summer holidays and Christmas.

- My background is in graphic design having a creative roots, but I travelled around New Zealand and Australia before coming to the UK. I met people from many different countries through my travel and teaching, and greatly enjoyed the experience.

Satomi sensei is a great teacher and really helps you to engage with Japanese fully. I had spent a number of years self studying with no defined or specific teachings of any kind, just **Web Address Removed** and music. Satomi sensei has really helped me to begin to sew words and bits of grammar together, and importantly put everything into practice, something that I had not had the opportunity of doing first hand until beginning her lessons. For me personally, I am very textbook and self studied in the sense of needing to learn the concepts and kanji, but when there are moments when I can't study as much, it's easy to forget things because they are not being actively used and not being used to construct speech. Satomi sensei helps me to construct speech, begin to master grammar and vocab usage in the correct way and feel confident about putting it into practice at any moment. She provides great homework activities and her interactive lessons and notes work really well. She also has many tips about how to overcome particular challenges (I recently learnt a verb song!) and that is very useful. I would highly recommend Satomi sensei's lessons. ありがとうございます さとみ先生

Satomi san is a very patient and efficient teacher. I initially enquired about having a crash course in Japanese as I only had about 12 weeks to get vaguely acquainted with the Japanese language before I move there for a year and Satomi was up for the challenge! Satomi san has carefully planned and thought out our lessons in this limited time frame and always provides supplemental reading material and homework. I feel much more confident now and have even had fun along the way! I would highly recommend Satomi san to any potential Japanese learners. Arigato Gozaimasu!

When I started working with Satomi a year ago, I only knew a few words in Japanese. I can now read hiragana, katakana and certain kanji that she has taught me. Satomi is an amazing teacher and has really helped me develop my vocabulary during our time working together. She uses very helpful boards for sentence structure as well as provides in depth explanations for various words, phrases and kanji. She sets weekly homework which helps me revise and practice both my reading and writing skills. Choosing Satomi was definitely the best choice I made for studying Japanese as I would not have been able to come as far as I have without her support! ありがとうございます！

Satomi is a fantastic tutor. Very professional and patient. I started as a complete beginner and after a month I couldn’t believe that I was reading a lot of the hiragana sentences provided as homework. Seeing your progress week over week really makes you want to study all the time. We moved at a pace I was comfortable with and I was provided with a lot of the tools needed to revise in my own time. Satomi understood my circumstances right away and structured her lessons around my visit to Japan. I highly recommend Satomi to anybody learning Japanese at any skill level. Thanks!

It's been almost two years as a casual adult learner with Satomi as my teacher. Satomi is patience, informative and engaging teacher making sure I acquire a level of comprehension before learning another new concept. Her well paced teaching style reinforces grammar and literature concepts from textbooks through everyday conversations and homework reviews. Satomi also gives further explanation as to how it is used through a variety of situations and what it means translating it back to English. When I am speaking or writing Japanese, she will rearrange my phrasing to be more understood by a native speaker as well as breaking down grammar concepts to correct my usage along with impromptu exercise drills. Furthermore she will add additional vocabulary around these subjects/talks based on the way I speak and write. Not only does this help me use Japanese more in my self study, it also makes me better at expressing myself. Highly Recommended!

I am a casual learner, with a small amount of prior knowledge (of Japanese). I find Satomi's lessons to be very insightful, encouraging and well-paced. She uses memorable visual aids, provides contextual background to why words and Kanji are the way they are, creates stories that help make things like the days of the week more easily memorable, and follows up each lesson with optional homework, which I'm finding to be of great help. If I had the time, I'd have more than one lesson a week. I highly recommend her.

Satomi was excellent with my daughter. She really made the lessons enjoyable and very informative. My daughter within few sessions started to converse in Japanese to our amazement. If you are looking to learn Japanese then seriously look no further. All of the previous reviews are 100% accurate, genuine and are also a true reflection of my experience of learning with Satomi. Her techniques, explanation and guidance are structured in such a way that makes you learn in your own time at your own pace. Satomi creates an environment that is relaxed, comfortable and fun to learn in. She is a caring professional tutor. Looking to stay with Satomi for a year to learn as much of the language and culture as possible before going to Japan on vacation in winter 2024. (says it all really).
