Hi! My name is James. I have tutored Maths now for 8 years. I have a 1st class Maths degree and a 1st class Masters degree in Mathematics. Please let me know if i can be of assistance. My absolute passion is Maths and i believe that anyone can achieve their predicted grade if shown in the way that suits the tutee.

James has been great, I would highly recommend. He managed to fit us in during a very busy period, which we are very greatful for. He is flexible and works on what my year 10, son needs each week. He is knowledgable, calm and patient and my son says his sessions are making a big difference.

Hi James, My son gelled with you straight away, and that's all too important for the flow and the professional relationship created over the weeks and the learning thats created within it. You make teaching enjoyable, with an ease of learning, understanding and excellence, my son has gone from strength to strength at pase. Your knowledge at PhD level Maths makes GCSE easy for you, and this comes across in your teaching, which my son has picked up easily and has retained. James has been tutoring my son for about a month now and already we are seeing great results. He received a great ‘end of module’ score after James’s help. They both get on very well and my son feels at ease in his company. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend James as a Maths tutor.

James has been working with our child for a few months now and the improvement in his maths ability was apparent straight away and is being noticed in school lessons too. Our son wasn't thrilled at the idea of doing more work outside school hours but the way James is in his sessions makes that go away. James is always on time and any communication needed with him is excellent with quick responses. We couldn't of asked for a better tutor to assist us.

After first session my daughters felt that he is the right tutor for them to teach mathematics and they are very happy with the approach which is James's specialty to understand and change according to the required methods. My daughter has recently started with James to support her with preparation for her GCSEs. From the very first lesson my daughter has said just how approachable James is with his teaching. She has felt at ease and has said just how beneficial these sessions are being able to run through prior papers, learning the syllabus as well as working on exam preparation and technique which sometimes isn't focused on so much within school. As a result of how pleased we are, we have also scheduled for my 13 year old to now begin sessions as she struggles with Maths in general so a different set of support but we are sure James can assist. Would highly recommend.

My daughter’s first session went very well with James. We all felt very at ease, James is very friendly and warm which goes a long way with my reluctant teenager. My daughter felt more confident than she has felt for a long time after the first hour-long may it continue! Would highly recommend

James is a fabulous Maths tutor to my ten year old son. He has already built his confidence and improved his Maths skills, showing him different ways of problem solving. James has a great ability to connect with student who are unhappy or uncomfortable studying maths, and turning that negativity into a positive attitude. In the time that James has been tutoring my son I have seen his confidence increase and his attitude change from 'I cant do this' to ' I understand this' and an increase in his scores.
