About
I am an experienced and dedicated tutor with over 30 years of teaching across both primary and GCSE levels. During the day, I work closely with students with SEND (ASD, SEMH, ADHD,DYSLEXIA, which has strengthened my ability to build calm, positive and trusting relationships that help learners feel confident and supported. My sessions are engaging and tailored to individual needs, using differentiated, hands-on resources such as model examples and sentence stems to scaffold understanding and promote independence. I tutor from a purpose-built office, providing a quiet and focused learning environment, and I am happy to provide references from current students upon request.

Reviews from First Tutors
Imported from Jayne's First Tutors profile before the site went dark. Shown separately from Tutorperch reviews — today they don't feed this tutor's Tutorperch rating or ranking.
How we verify these
Each imported review went through admin review. The tutor proved ownership of the First Tutors profile via one of two paths:
- Photo match. The First Tutors avatar matched the tutor's identity-verified Tutorperch photo, confirmed by admin.
- Cryptographic email check. The tutor uploaded an original First Tutors email (.eml). We verified the DKIM signature against First Tutors' signing keys and cross-checked the embedded tutor ID against the claimed profile.
The review text is the original reviewer's own words, quoted as-is. We verified the tutor's ownership of the profile, not the truth of what each individual reviewer wrote.

My Daughter started with Jayne for year 11, was getting 5”s and 6’s for English and wasn’t feeling very confident. Jayne was excellent, she had a weekly session for 10 weeks or so and this week she got an 8 in her English Language GCSE and a 7 in Literature, so over the moon with that, would highly recommend

A joy to make this ladies acquaintance. A professional who seems to connect quickly with her students making the mentor & student relationship more like friends working through subject matter. Jayne has a wealth of experience across many ages & ability making my daughter Freyas weekly visits something to look forward to. Thank-you Jayne.

Jayne has been a great tutor for my daughter who was hoping to increase mock grade 4 for English Language to a grade 5. She had 1-2 lessons a week in the lead up to her GCSE exams. Jayne is very responsive, listened to my daughter’s requests on what to focus on, provided great materials. My daughter felt very comfortable with Jayne, enjoyed the lessons and says she learnt a lot. My daughter and I would 100% recommend Jayne. Regardless of my daughter’s GCSE result the tutoring was worthwhile filling in her gaps in understanding and building my daughter’s confidence.
