Bonjour! My name is Annemarie and I am a native French speaker having lived, studied and worked in France. I hold a French degree from Lancaster University and a post graduate diploma in European Studies from the Sorbonne. I have always loved languages and am committed to making language learning an enjoyable and enriching experience for my students. Having worked as a management consultant for many years, I have observed how language learning builds empathy, analytical thinking and adaptability, all highly valued career skills.

My teaching approach is based on building a strong foundation in speaking, listening, reading and writing French to meet the requirements of the GCSE and A-Level syllabus. Each lesson is tailored to the student’s specific needs, individual learning style and academic goals. I like to make the lessons interactive and use role play and other activities to develop confidence in spoken French. I am skilled in simplifying the more complex aspects of French grammar and conjugation, helping students strengthen their understanding and achieve excellent academic results.

I also teach French to younger students in a bilingual school setting, where I use phonics to embed good pronunciation and develop reading skills.
