Hi, I'm Lauren, and I'm currently studying Psychology at Durham University. I tutor GCSE and A Level Biology and Psychology, and I also support younger students with reading and English literacy.

My aim is to create a space where students feel comfortable asking questions, even ones that feel too basic to ask in a classroom, because that's usually where the real understanding happens. I put a lot of care into my resources too, building revision notes and flashcards for each topic so students have something solid to work from between sessions, not just what we cover in the lesson itself.

Alongside my degree, I work as a Research Assistant on projects in Durham's Psychology Department. This means I can teach Research Methods with real and current expertise, which is often an area where students lose marks simply because it isn't taught with much depth elsewhere. I bring the same attention to required practicals in Biology, focusing not just on what to write in an exam answer but on why the method actually works, since that's usually what makes it stick.

I've tutored a wide range of students across different levels and subjects, and what I care about most is helping each one build a genuine and confident understanding of the material rather than a memorised one.
