About
My name is Louise, and for over 14 years, I have been dedicated to supporting students through one to one tuition. As an academic lawyer, legal educator, and history teacher, I bring a wealth of knowledge to my students. I serve as a senior examiner in history for both GCSE and A'levels, and was a a university lecturer assessor in law for over nine years. When I am not tutoring, I serve as a family court presiding justice magistrate. My journey into education began when my own children were younger, transitioning from a corporate background. I taught in an independent school for three years before starting my own business 14 years ago. I help students at both ends of the scale, those who are gifted and talented but are not being stretched enough within their current academic environment, to students who are considered 'average'. In my experience, no student is average and every student has the ability to be successful, they just need the tools and confidence to succeed. I also have extensive experience with students who have learning challenges such as dyslexia, dyspraxia, ASD and ADHD. My own son struggled in a mainstream school environment (ADHD and dyslexia) and through my support, he is now thriving at a US university and about to graduate in English and philosophy.
I teach all lessons via a dedicated zoom platform and I have students from all over the world. Being online reduces the time for travel and students are in their own space and are more comfortable and at ease which promotes a healthy and productive learning environment. I focus on skills that are required to get the top grades in public exams. As an experienced tutor it is very clear to see that although students are being taught content and skills at school, there is little time to perfect those skills within the timetable, particularly with the pressures of other subjects and extra curricular activities. My students consistently perform at the top end and 100% of my students from 2025 got A*-B (80% A*-A) in A'levels and 100% got grade 9s at GCSE.

Louise started working with my daughter last September in her final A level year to coach her for History. She'd hated the subject and regretted taking it and had achieved a C in her summer exam though she was capable of a higher grade. Through weekly sessions with Louise she was soon achieving much higher marks. At the beginning of this term she got an A* for her History mock. Over the past months she had begun to enjoy History again and this is wholly thanks to Louise. She is an exceptional tutor and really helped my daughter to turn her History A level around. But actually her support went much further than that. At the start of the year my daughter was struggling with organisation, overwhelmed and behind with her coursework. Louise was the voice of calm reassurance she needed. She was able to be honest with her about how behind she was and Louise helped her to make a plan not just for History but her 3 subjects. Each week she was kind and constructive and it really helped my daughter to feel less anxious and more motivated. In the end she did really well with all her subjects. Louise is easily the best tutor we've ever had, she goes above and beyond and I can't recommend her highly enough.

Louise is an exceptional tutor and I feel so lucky to have found her! She is extremely knowledgeable about her subject; her passion and enthusiasm is really helping to motivate my daughter who has been finding the new History A Level syllabus very dry, demanding and challenging to say the least. Louise provided some coaching for my son. He resat his history A level paper. His coursework was good but the exam result had been poor. Louise only had a short time to work with him because he had been volunteering only returning to the UK towards the end of April. He found Louise easy to work with, pragmatic and organised. She explained things well and gave excellent feedback on the work he did. With Louise's help my son went into the exam full of confidence. He got the result he wanted and started at his first choice Uni last week. I would recommend Louise highly - she's a star!
