I am a PGCE-qualified maths teacher and experienced online tutor specialising in KS2, KS3 and GCSE mathematics. Before moving into education, I worked professionally as a solicitor, where I developed strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills which I now bring into my teaching.

I have over 6 years of tutoring experience working with students across a wide range of abilities, from those lacking confidence in maths to students aiming for the very top GCSE grades. My approach is centred around building both understanding and confidence, as I believe students make the most progress when they genuinely understand why a method works rather than simply memorising procedures.

I understand that many students can find maths frustrating or intimidating, particularly if they have fallen behind or had negative experiences with the subject in the past. Because of this, I aim to create a calm, supportive and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. I place a strong emphasis on clear explanations, questioning and developing independent thinking so that students gradually become more confident in their own ability.

Lessons are tailored to the individual student’s needs and learning style, whether the focus is catching up on difficult topics, improving confidence, preparing for exams or pushing towards higher grades. I regularly use worked examples, guided practice and exam-style questions to identify gaps in understanding and strengthen key skills.

All lessons are taught online using interactive tools and screen sharing to create an engaging and effective learning experience from home. I pride myself on being professional, approachable and reliable, and I genuinely enjoy helping students develop both academically and personally through maths.
