Is your child saying "I understand it in class but I can't do it in the exam"?

That gap is the most common thing I see, and it's the thing I fix. Most students I meet don't have a knowledge problem. They have a method problem: they revise by re-reading, they don't know what the examiner is actually looking for, and they lose marks on questions they could do.

What I do

I tutor GCSE Maths and Science only. Nothing else. That means I know every specification point, every question style and every trick the exam boards use, and I've seen exactly where students go wrong on each one.

Every lesson is built around exam questions, not textbook chapters. Students learn the content, then immediately learn how to turn it into marks. I start each session with a quick recap quiz so nothing gets forgotten, and parents get regular updates on what we've covered and where their child is heading.

Results

I've been tutoring for 6 years and now do it full time, working with 50+ students a year. Results range from students who needed a secure pass to get onto their college course, to students who went into their exams aiming for 9s and got them. I've had students go up three grades in a few months once they finally had a method that worked.

Who I work with

Year 9 to Year 11, Foundation and Higher, AQA specification (other boards welcome for maths). All lessons are online over Zoom with students across the UK. I run small weekly group classes for Maths and for Science as well as 1:1, so there's an option that fits most budgets.

A bit about me

I have a degree in Medical Science and started tutoring after my own A-levels, so I remember exactly what it feels like to sit these exams. I'm calm, direct and honest with parents. If something isn't working I'll say so and change it.
