About

About Me

I am a very skilled and dedicated teacher with over 26 years of classroom teaching experience within the London Borough of Redbridge. I hold a degree in psychology, followed by a Postgraduate qualification in Education (PGCE), specialising in English, from St Martin's College. As a result, I achieved my QTS (Qualified Teaching Status).

Alongside my teaching career, I have consistently provided one-to-one tutoring to children across a wide range of abilities and learning journeys, including home school learners. I feel that if a child needs help, the primary school years are the best time to begin developing the right foundations.

What I Offer

Primary Education Support

I work in close partnership with parents to devise learning plans that are carefully adapted to suit each child’s learning style, including:

  • SATs preparation

  • Phonics screening preparation

  • Year 5 and year 6 booster classes

  • 7+ and 11+ preparation

  • Year 4 pupils Multiplication Tables Check (MTC)

  • English/ maths support and intervention

  • Homework activities using 'concrete', 'pictorial' and 'abstract' resources.

  • Home education support on specific days

Specialist Experience

I have extensive knowledge of the KS1&2 curriculum; helping children prepare for year 6 SATs. In addition, I have worked as a KS2 examiner, marking SATs papers, giving me valuable insight into assessment expectations and standards.

I also have strong experience supporting children with SEND and neurodivergent learners. I understand the importance of adapting teaching approaches to ensure every child feels engaged and supported.
