About

About Me

I began tutoring in 2008 and have since built over 20 years of experience teaching French to learners of all ages and levels. My career has taken me through different countries, teaching environments and platforms, and today I specialise in online tuition with a strong focus on clear explanations, confidence‑building and steady, meaningful progress.

I have lived in England for more than two decades, and I work with children, teenagers and adults from a wide range of backgrounds — from complete beginners to GCSE, A‑Level and advanced learners. My lessons are fully tailored to each student’s needs, learning style and goals, ensuring they feel comfortable, motivated and able to progress at their own pace. I am passionate about helping learners discover that French can be enjoyable, accessible and rewarding, and I love seeing their confidence grow week after week.

How My Lessons Work

My lessons follow a clear structure while remaining flexible to each student’s needs. I aim to make learning organised, engaging and confidence‑building.

1. Quick check‑in and warm‑up A short activity to get the student thinking in French — a few questions, a recap or a small vocabulary game — helps them settle in and switch into “French mode”.

2. Review of previous learning We briefly revisit what we covered in the last lesson to reinforce understanding and ensure everything is clear before moving on.

3. Main focus of the lesson This part is tailored to the student’s goals: grammar, exam preparation, speaking, listening, reading or writing. I use examples, exercises and real‑life situations to make the content meaningful and memorable.

4. Practice and application Students apply what they’ve learned through guided practice — conversation, exam‑style questions, translation, role‑play or interactive activities depending on their level.

5. Feedback and corrections I provide clear, constructive feedback so students know what they’re doing well and what we will continue to develop.

6. Summary and next steps We finish with a short recap and a simple plan for the next lesson. When helpful, I suggest small tasks to reinforce learning between sessions.

My Teaching Philosophy

My teaching philosophy is rooted in the belief that students learn best when they feel comfortable, supported and confident. I take a calm, natural approach where each learner can progress at their own pace without pressure. Every student is different, so I adapt my methods to their needs, strengths and goals rather than applying a one‑size‑fits‑all approach. Above all, I aim to create a learning environment that is clear, encouraging and genuinely enjoyable.
