About
I have a degree in English and Spanish Language and Literature, with a linguistic and educational background. I have been teaching languages abroad and online for more than fifteen years.
I have tutored students for their Italian GCSEs, A-levels, LC and B1 for citizenship. I have been also an examiner for Italian GCSEs and A-levels. I collaborate with a Bristol Language Centre.
My teaching method varies according to the students' learning abilities, age and needs. My lessons are held exclusively online and are aimed at students of all ages and all levels.

Marika has been tutoring our daughter for her Italian GCSE for the past three months. We have found her to be highly professional, conscientious and an excellent tutor. Marika has been kind and patient with our often shy daughter and under her expert tutelage her confidence in her abilities to speak Italian have grown to the point where she recently sat the speaking part of the examination with confidence and ease. Marika now turns to tutoring our daughter for the three other elements of the GCSE and we are sure that she will do an equally excellent job of preparing her. We feel very fortunate to have found Marika, who has gone above and beyond to develop a good relationship with our daughter, building trust and mutual respect which has made the sessions worthwhile. We can highly recommend Marika, she knows her stuff and understands what is required, on top of that she is a lovely person :-)

I've really enjoyed my Italian lessons with Marika. She offers a nice mix of theory and practical, mixed in with interactive learning to keep things fresh. She has a nice sense of humour so the lessons are fun and engaging. Plus she is also keen to give context to the language and its use which is very important. It's very easy to arrange lessons and she is always very organised. I would highly recommend Marika to anyone looking for a true Italian speaker and experienced tutor.

I have had lessons (on zoom) with Marika now for 6 months and I find the lessons really enjoyable, having the right mix of speaking, listening and theory/ grammar. My Italian has become better, and I now feel much more confident speaking than I was before. I would highly recommend Marika as a teacher.

Marika has been teaching me Italian GCSE since December 2020 and I am very pleased to say that I have just received my results and I have received a 9 in Italian! I have found Marika to be a very patient, knowledgable and understanding tutor. She is very punctual and prompt, always taking the time to understand where the gaps in my knowledge are. Marika is an exceptional (and native) Italian tutor who has helped me improve dramatically within the last 5 months. I married an Italian man (from Tuscany) and I’m already fluent in French. I wanted to learn Italian as well as I only had the basic foundations of skills and understanding. Since tutoring with Marika, my vocabulary has increased, my knowledge of pronouns (direct and indirect), idiomatic language, along with my fluency and expression. Marika also knows how to keep challenging me so that I keep improving and I always look forward to our sessions. Why is Marika the best? Well, in my humble opinion, aside from being a patient, kind and friendly facilitator of learning, she is an Italian native who has the contextual, cultural and linguistic advantage over other non-native tutors who teach modern languages. Have kept putting off 1-1 lessons for a while as I wasn't sure what I'd think. Took the leap and couldn't be happier and this is down to an excellent teacher who makes every lesson very enjoyable. I really look forward to and enjoy my lessons with Marika. She pitches the level of conversation well for me and we discuss a range of subjects. She will set me homework on various grammar points which have come up during the class and she sends me new vocabulary from the class. I think she has a wide range of lesson aides/homework options available to suit all levels. I am very satisfied to have Marika as my teacher.
