Dr Joshua R.

I’m a Principal Teaching Fellow at the University of Southampton and one of the programme leads for the Engineering Foundation Year. With over fourteen years’ experience in Higher and Further Education, I support students across Electronics, Computer Science, and Programming, from GCSE and A Levels, to university level. I hold a PhD in Electronic Engineering and regularly teach programming in Python, C++, C#, Matlab, and Visual Basic. I’ve helped students develop confidence in both coursework and exams, as well as in practical coding and problem-solving skills. Alongside academic teaching, I’m experienced in ICT and digital skills training, and I lead STEM outreach initiatives designed to make complex topics more engaging and accessible. I’m friendly, patient, and adaptable in my teaching approach, always aiming to build on each student’s strengths and help them reach their full potential.
