About

I am a positive and friendly individual who aims to support students to achieve their goals. I have a vast experience in the field of Psychology and in the teaching profession. I studied for both my degree and teaching qualifications in Liverpool, having stayed after completing my degree. I relocated to the West Midlands area in 2006. I have always been part of the Education system in some form, whether as a classroom assistant (before gaining my teaching qualification) an examiner or as a Lecturer in Psychology. I am a friendly and approachable individual who can provide current and recent references. I currently tutor A level Psychology both with national and international experience.

I have been teaching Psychology A Level since 2006 and have over 20 years experience. I left my last full time teaching position in 2015 to have my daughter and since then have tutored on a 1 to 1 basis for Psychology alongside working in other roles. I joined an FE college during the pandemic to teach psychology units for an Access program and have continued to deliver these units online as well as maintaining tutoring online. My previous tutoring has been via recommendation and I can provide additional references on request. I was also asked to return to my previous employment and taught there until September 2018 as an Associate Lecturer for Psychology. I have marked as an examiner for the previous 12 years as well as working as an invigilator at a local school. I have taught all levels of Psychology, even teaching on the Podiatry degree course at Aston University and Access to Higher Education programs. I have recently delivered Psychology at a college in Oxford, online, teaching the psychology units for ACCESS to nursing and social science. I have taught a number of tutees locally as well as delivering online sessions globally successfully. I am confident in using a wide variety of different teaching platforms online and have a vast array of resources to help support students. I can also provide up to date references from previous students and parents if required and pride myself in delivering to the needs of the students.

I have a flexible approach to learning and take a very student lead approach. My aim is to concentrate on the areas that need working on and lessons are prepared and planned around this. I always send lesson/exam resources via electronic means and l am happy to record lessons so that students can refer back to these. I have a bank of resources and these are constantly been updated and adapted to the students requirements. I find the tutoring experience rewarding with a previous student improving his A level grade from an E to a C, showing this is possible with hard work and determination. Due to my current situation/demand I am offering predominantly online sessions but will consider delivering lessons locally. If you have any questions please just ask and I will try to accommodate as best I can. Many thanks and I look forward to hearing from you.
