About
My name is Will and I'm a Head of Physics at a secondary school with 17 years of teaching experience both at GCSE and for A level Physics and Chemistry. I've tutored for nine years and been an examiner for AQA for the last five years.
I am adept at identifying a student's misconceptions and learning gaps and working to fill them.Students often know plenty of science facts, but they're disparate ideas and they haven't yet connected them together to build a broader understanding. They may also struggle to apply what they know to exam questions. Too often students feel they have revised, but when they're tested they find it difficult to see past the context of a question and identify exactly what is being tested. I can help them with this and help them to practice a process for the different exam question archetypes. Being an AQA examiner I know exactly what the mark schemes are looking for and how to teach students to approach questions.
I'm passionate about the sciences and love sharing that with students. I love seeing students build their confidence and develop in the subject. I have a good track record of improving student grades and getting fantastic outcomes.
