About
I am an experienced Mathematics teacher with over 20 years of teaching and tutoring experience, working across schools in Wolverhampton, Telford, Walsall and Dudley. I have taught GCSE Mathematics, Functional Skills, resit Maths, 11+, and primary English and Maths, giving me a broad understanding of learner needs across age groups and abilities.
I have served as both Head of Mathematics and Assistant Headteacher, leading a core subject and supporting whole‑school improvement. I am fully familiar with the Edexcel, AQA, and OCR exam boards, and I attend regular exam board meetings, ensuring I remain up to date with all specification changes and assessment requirements.
Having worked with lots of students over the years, I have developed a highly adaptable teaching style that responds to individual needs. I understand that every learner is different, and I take time to identify how each student learns best, whether they need confidence‑building, targeted intervention or stretch and challenge.
My lessons are structured, clear and focused on building strong foundations, improving problem‑solving skills and developing effective exam technique. I place particular emphasis on preparation and practice, using past papers, model answers and recurring question types to help students understand how marks are awarded and how to approach unfamiliar problems with confidence.

Parmjit has been very understanding with my daughter during her tutoring sessions and her confidence is definitely improving. Parmjit always explains what she’s gone over that session, what they will work on and why. Overall, Parmjit is very approachable and has a good manner with my daughter. The fact that we’re at a point where my daughter actually doesn’t mind doing the maths is progress in itself! Like a lot of teens, my daughter didn't really fancy 'even more maths AND after school' and lacked confidence in herself. However, after just one session she was sold on it! Parmjit put her at ease and she's really seeing the progress she's making now. She even came out of one session saying she was 'practically Einstein' having nailed some algebra. Parmjit is an exceptional tutor. When my daughter started with her she was predicted a 5 in her GCSE. With the help from Parmjit my daughter sat her exam and came out with a 7. Parmjit is very patient and encouraging. I would highly recommend Parmjit to anyone who is looking for a tutor.

My son who is in year 8 has received a couple of tutoring sessions from Parmjit. He finds her teaching style excellent and has commented on how well she simplifies things and explains things. He seems well engaged with the sessions and already feels more confident. As parents we have been impressed with how well Parmjit communicates with our son and how well she feeds back from the sessions. Parmjit is aware of what Is being taught and what is current on the school curriculum. We will definitely be continuing with the sessions and would highly recommend Parmjit.
