About
I live at home with my husband, our beautiful dog Poppy, and sometimes some rare breed pigs! I am passionate about teaching Mathematics and I pride myself on making people feel secure and confident in their mathematical ability. Private Tutoring is very rewarding because you see students making real progress; sometimes for the first time in their lives.
I am an experienced teacher of Mathematics who has taught in Comprehensive and Grammar schools and also in Further Education Colleges. Most recently I worked in a College where I was the Mathematics Co-ordinator responsible for the delivery of the GCSE Mathematics provision. I was also a Lead Practitioner for staff training and I taught on the PGCE course. I specialise in preparing students for the GCSE Maths exams and also the Additional Maths exam. My Enhanced DBS Certificate is available for inspection.
I believe that Mathematics is an accessible subject to all. With patience, perseverance and learning in a relaxed and fun environment, everyone can achieve their potential. All it takes is one-to-one attention and an open mind to learning.

Rebecca has been tutoring my daughter for her maths GCSE for the last 6 months. She has been has been great and my daughters grades and confidence have improved. Rebecca is friendly, reliable and accommodating when we need to rearrange sessions. She has a patient approach and finds different ways of explaining maths problems until my daughter understands. I can thoroughly recommend her.

Unfortunately the tutor had to cancel our arrangement after only 3 sessions due to circumstances out of her control. The sessions that did take place were effective. It is a shame that this has happened as she was patient and the tutoring has been delayed as a result of having to find a new tutor.

Rebecca was just great. Called in late in the day prior to exams, she boosted Daniel's confidence, checked the basics and took him through all likely and key exam questions for GCSE. He was very pleased and returned from both exams the able chap who was enjoying maths a year ago and is again!
