About
A Master of Mathematics graduate from UEA in Norwich, with a year studying in Melbourne Australia. I have over 14 years experience tutoring with various age groups, abilities and personalities.
Since university I have enjoyed tutoring part time and full time for the past 14 years. I was also contracted in by a local college to provide individual and group tutoring sessions to underachieving students, during and after school.
I started tutoring GCSE maths in Year 13, providing a very structured learning by my school. The students engaged well and it helped to have people of a similar age that the students could relate to, enabling a more relaxed learning atmosphere. I also informally helped peers of various levels whilst at university, maths students but also engineering and foundation levels. When my services were required in a particular area, then they asked for help on short notice.
Since, I've been tutoring 7 days a week with peak hours ranging in excess of 40hrs of tutoring. I've therefore assessed the likely weaknesses of a student and have already provided and perfected the best methods of explanation.
Can look at casual tutoring of areas of difficulty, or can do more structured learning of a curriculum, either intense learning or weekly troubleshooting. I've established good quality material for any level. Plenty of students just require good material and direction for their efforts.
The first meeting will be free with the aim of getting to know one another and the strengths and weaknesses of the tutee, and at what pace the student requires. At which point a structured plan of action can be drawn up. In some cases the tutee may lack the confidence in areas, but can in fact do what's required. Even a casual troubleshooting session every now and then can set their worries at rest.

How we verify these
Each imported review went through admin review. The tutor proved ownership of the First Tutors profile via one of two paths:
- Photo match. The First Tutors avatar matched the tutor's identity-verified Tutorperch photo, confirmed by admin.
- Cryptographic email check. The tutor uploaded an original First Tutors email (.eml). We verified the DKIM signature against First Tutors' signing keys and cross-checked the embedded tutor ID against the claimed profile.
The review text is the original reviewer's own words, quoted as-is. We verified the tutor's ownership of the profile, not the truth of what each individual reviewer wrote.

So pleased we have Daniel tutoring our son. Even after just 4 session his confidence in maths has grown, so great to see this sort of result in such a short period of time.

Daniel has been working with our son for 4 sessions now and progress is already noticeable in both our son's confidence and grasp of mathematical principles which is translating well in the classroom. The recommendations of other parents were key in us choosing Daniel. They were most helpful and accurate as borne out by our encouraging experience with Daniel so far. So worth it!

Daniel is an excellent tutor and I cannot recommend him highly enough. My son enjoys the sessions as Daniel has a very relaxed manner and explains things very clearly. He doesn't leave until he has covered the topics thoroughly - regularly going over time to ensure that a concept is firmly understood. Many thanks Daniel!

Daniel has only been with us for 2 weeks however he is already making an impression on my sons maths work! He is very clear and concise and doesn't just work to the 1 hour time slot, he will carry on if he wants to complete a subject. So great so far. Thanks

Daniel has established great working rapport with Alice and clearly demonstrates a calm, methodical approach towards getting her to understand some of the more difficult aspects and concepts of mathematics. He's patient with her and has definitely gained her trust. He's a nice chap and we are very happy to have him as Alice's tutor, helping her gain her confidence in mathematics. We are very pleased with our choice and look forward to seeing him next week. Philip and Elizabeth Price.

I was looking for a tutor for my 19 year old daughter who was retaking her GCSE but had left College. Ellie was a little bit Mathsphobic after some bad experiences with Maths teachers in the past, who she felt were dismissive when she couldn't grasp topics immediately. So I deliberately chose someone who didn't look 'teachery'. Ellie described Daniel as 'laid back and patient' and was very happy with the help she received. She resat the exam in November, and although we don't have the results yet, this was the first time she went into the exams feeling, in her words, 'prepared and confident'. Even better she felt confident when she'd finished each paper, having been able to attempt every question. We have now received Ellie's results and I'm very pleased to say that she has finally passed. UPD**Telephone Number Removed** We returned to Daniel for help for my son who is High Functioning Autistic and has problems with written communication. My son enjoys Maths, but he was getting wildly varying scores due to not always understanding what he was being asked to do. Daniel worked with him on Exam past papers and how to interpret questions as well as some specific Maths issues. We learned last week that my son had achieved an A grade in GCSE. He asked me to add that Daniel is "very patient and nice to work with".

Daniel has been a great help to both my children. He was quickly able to identify their individual strengths and weaknesses and tailor his tutoring accordingly. He has agreed to continue to help them over the next year as they approach GCSE. I recommend him highly.

If Daniel can help me with as knotty a subject as stochastic calculus (which he did!) I imagine he can help most people with their needs. Recommended.

Let me know if/when you might like to look at Differential Equations or would like some help before the exam later in the year.
