About
I've been tutoring for 8 years, with a specialism in online Maths GCSE tuition.
I have a very strong grasp of which areas students tend to find challenging and a catalogue of methods to help them fully understand the content and feel empowered in their learning. I've worked with students across a range of abilities and with varying requirements - I always tailor my approach to the individual. I'm pleased to say that all my tutees have met or exceeded their targets.
My focus is on building confidence and enjoyment and letting positive results flow from that to create a cycle of reinforcement. Learning should be fun!
Outside of tutoring I am an award-winning actor and writer - currently part of the prestigious London Library Emerging Writers scheme, a Youth Board Trustee at Masterclass Theatre Royal Haymarket, and winner of this year's Bill Cashmore Award.
My SEND experience includes: autism, ADHD, dyslexia, dyspraxia, dyscalculia, dysgraphia, PDA, KGB syndrome and various mental health conditions.

How we verify these
Each imported review went through admin review. The tutor proved ownership of the First Tutors profile via one of two paths:

Shona was very friendly and polite, happy to have her but she did not teach small Kids, not the one who are at reception so because she is not experience with teaching phonics we have to look for someone with better experience.
