About
I am a highly experienced private tutor with over 13 years of experience tutoring students. I have also taught in schools in both the UK and Europe, as well as providing one-to-one private tuition to more than 50 students.
I teach Maths and English, as well as German and Italian, with tuition available from KS1 upwards where appropriate.
Alongside tutoring, I work professionally as a data analyst, giving me a strong analytical and problem-solving background. I have a degree in German and Italian, and also studied Economics at university. My academic background, professional experience and tutoring experience allow me to approach subjects in a structured and analytical way, while adapting lessons to the individual student.
I have a consistent track record of helping students who are struggling with a subject to build their understanding and achieve the C grade or above they need. I have also taught many students who have gone on to achieve A and A* grades. I focus on identifying where a student's understanding has broken down and addressing those underlying gaps, rather than simply working through exercises.
My tuition is predominantly face-to-face at students' homes in and around Pontypool, Cwmbran and Newport. I find that individual tuition provides an effective learning environment for most students, allowing lessons to be closely tailored to their needs, pace and progress.
Whether a student needs help rebuilding their confidence and understanding, is preparing for their examinations, or is aiming for the highest grades possible, I tailor my lessons to their starting point and individual goals.

Anthony taught my 7 year old daughter on-line. He quickly understood the problem she was having and helped me to teach her in a way she would grasp the process. When she struggled to grasp certain elements, he changed his teaching method in order to help her. He was also very good with positive reinforcement and feedback. I would certainly recommend Anthony

Anthony started tutoring my daughter approximately 6 weeks before she sat her maths GCSE, my daughter was really struggling, had no confidence, and was terrified of the subject, Anthony changed that! He got on well with my daughter and explained things in a way that was easier for her to understand, she actually looked forward to Anthony's lesson on the weekend. My daughter picked up her GCSE results today and she got a C in maths which would not have been possible without Anthony's help! My only regret is that we didn't find Anthony sooner.
