Katie

Katie is a fully qualified Science Teacher and has been teaching secondary students for 17 years.

Katie is an AQA Examiner for Combined GCSE Chemistry, Trilogy Chemistry and A-Level Chemistry, for the past 15 years.

Katie currently teaches both the Combined Science and Trilogy specifications for AQA, and Chemistry, Biology and Physics. She also currently teach both sides of the AQA Chemistry specification. As an experienced AQA Examiner Katie is able to offer exam preparation tutoring and tutoring throughout the year and is adaptable to the student's needs.

Katie first started tutoring in 2011 and has tutored a wealth of students with ranging abilities, developing students' knowledge and understanding through application to exam questions so that they can achieve their potential and exceed expectations.

Katie is extremely passionate about science and thoroughly enjoys applying abstract concepts to everyday life to further develop and embed students' knowledge and understanding.

Katie enjoys sharing her passion with students and applying science to their interests and passions to further develop their knowledge and understanding.

Katie adapts her sessions to students' needs and their interests, utilising exam questions in every session so that students are able to recognise what is being asked of them and how to apply their knowledge and understanding to answer exam questions.

Katie has always been passionate about learning and sharing knowledge. Becoming a teacher felt like a natural path because it combines her love of the subject with her desire to help others succeed.

Katie enjoys creating engaging learning experiences and watching students develop new skills and confidence.

Katie has a proven track record of supporting students in a way that significantly improves their grades, whether that is from a 3 to a 5 or from a 7 to a 9, Katie thrives on the challenge, she develops a great rapport with her students so that they are able to reach their full potential.

Katie offers both individual and small group tuition sessions. Small group sessions are carefully structured, engaging, and focused on key topics within the specification, ensuring content is delivered clearly and consistently. Individual sessions are tailored to each student's specific needs and may focus on a particular science subject or cover all three sciences, depending on the student's goals. Both individual and small group tuition are available for GCSE and A Level students. Small group sessions are offered on a flexible, month-by-month basis with no long-term commitment required.

Katie has daytime, evening and weekend availability and offers a free 20 minute conversation (over the phone or online) to get to know the student and their needs.
