Hello there

Thank you for looking at my profile.

I have 30 years' teaching experience in both primary and secondary settings. In each establishment I have held posts relating to English, as well as being a lead literacy teacher and a writing moderator for the local authority. Recently semi-retired, I am focussing on tutoring and in-school interventions which means I am available during the day as well as evenings.

My approach is one of patience and understanding, starting where the student feels comfortable and confident and then, through encouragement and positivity, challenging them to aim high. Misconceptions are explored and explained, and then students are given plenty of opportunity to practise.
