About
With over 25 years of teaching experience, I have worked with a diverse range of age groups and learner backgrounds. My specialisation is in GCSE curriculum in English Language & Literature, covering the AQA, Edexcel, OCR, WJEC, and CCEA examination boards. I possess a comprehensive understanding of the English as a Foreign Language (EFL), and I have taught in both private and public sector organizations .
Recently, I taught in the Foundation program at The University of Sussex within the Arts & Humanities department. Additionally, I have served as an examiner for the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) and the Cambridge main suite speaking module for 16 years. My teaching experience extends to several universities in the London area, including the School of Oriental & African Studies (SOAS).
I am a supportive and intuitive tutor, known for building strong rapport with students. Throughout my career, I have utilized a variety of teaching methodologies, including both teacher- and student-led approaches, as well as task-based learning activities. I have developed effective differentiation strategies and successfully delivered a range of programs in challenging classroom environments.
My efforts have consistently resulted in excellent student outcomes, as evidenced by their strong examination grades in both intensive and long-term courses.

Bruce has been amazing, he took on my son to support him with English retakes, Bruce quickly grew a good rapport with my son and established areas for improvement and a targeted improvement plan, using a variety of techniques aligned to my sons learning capabilities, my son quickly improved and subsequently passed the retakes with a vastly improved score. We continued with Bruce to further develop the use of good English practices in my sons further academic studies.
