About

My first class degree in English Literature and Psychology fostered the desire to create my own private tuition business. This business is full-time, which allows me to teach home-educated/college students during the day, and students in the school system shortly thereafter.

It is truly gratifying to see students of all levels attain their very best grades: during my time tutoring, I have observed that a huge obstacle holding students back is negative self-beliefs. In order to counteract this, I talk a lot with students about re-framing their self-talk. I use praise, and often remind them of all their progress. This greatly assists in progress, and builds their general confidence.

During my almost three years of tutoring, I have worked with a variety of students with differing needs. For instance, I have taught students with ADHD, ADD, dyslexia, anxiety, hearing impairments, and autism. However, I also largely work with students with no apparent learning needs.

A common misconception is that students only require a tutor when struggling: many students with commendable grades have relied on me to push them further, resulting in outstanding marks.

My approach to tutoring is easy-going but effective: students will be put at ease, knowing they won't be scolded for mistakes, that they can open up, and ultimately never feel on the spot. I strongly believe that an atmosphere that is warm and serene will always produce the best results. I have cultivated great relationships with each of my students and will always endeavour to do so.
