About
Hello! I am a warm, process-driven academic specialist offering tailored, high-impact tuition across GCSE, A-Level, and Functional Skills. I hold a First-Class Honours degree in Law (LLB) and a Master's degree (MA) in Creative Writing, and I am currently completing my PGCE in Further Education. My teaching style is patient, encouraging, and focused on building confidence. I don't believe in dry, rigid memorisation. Instead, I excel at breaking down dense, complex concepts into clear, accessible steps so you can feel completely in control of your learning. Whether you are aiming for a top grade or mastering essential functional skills, I am dedicated to creating a safe, supportive space where you can thrive. To ensure we are a perfect fit, your first introductory lesson is completely free.
Teaching & Tutoring Experience
I bring over a decade of professional, high-stakes instructional experience to my tutoring practice. For more than fourteen years, I have worked autonomously within a highly regulated UK government compliance framework, delivering tailored, one-to-one coaching to a multicultural, multi-generational client base. This background has allowed me to master the art of diagnosing learning barriers in real-time, adapting communication for neurodiverse learners, and successfully managing performance anxiety under high-pressure conditions. Alongside my independent instructional background, my formal teacher training includes a PGCE in Further Education. This has given me invaluable, hands-on classroom experience planning and delivering curriculum content directly to post-16 and Access to Higher Education cohorts. As a result, I am thoroughly versed in the exact marking schemes used by major UK exam boards (including AQA, Edexcel, and OCR) and hold a complete, up-to-date understanding of modern educational compliance, including Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) and safeguarding guidelines.
My Areas of Expertise
I love working with a completely diverse range of learners, from young people tackling their first state exams to adult learners returning to education. I provide comprehensive support across my core specialisms:
Law: GCSE, A-Level, and undergraduate modules including contract, tort, and criminal law.
English Language & Literature: GCSE and A-Level essay mechanics, textual analysis, and prose composition.
History: GCSE and A-Level source evaluation, historical context, and analytical writing.
Functional Skills: Practical English and foundational literacy development for all ages.
