Hi, I’m Elle, an experienced English and French tutor with over six years of tutoring experience and more than 700 hours of teaching. I specialise in supporting students aged 4–18, with a particular focus on GCSE and A-Level English Language, English Literature and French. I have experience working across all major exam boards and am SEN trained, allowing me to adapt my teaching to suit each student’s individual needs, learning style and goals.

My approach combines building confidence with developing the skills students need to achieve their target grades and beyond. I focus on more than simply teaching content; I help students understand how to apply their knowledge effectively in exams, structure high-quality essays and meet assessment objectives. My lessons incorporate examiner expectations, exam-style questions, detailed feedback and practical techniques that students can use independently.

Every student receives a personalised approach. I create tailored revision packs, essay frameworks, model answers, quote analyses and revision strategies based on their specific exam board, texts and areas for improvement. I also use memorable acronyms and structured writing methods to make complex concepts easier to understand and apply.

My academic background includes an A-Level in French at grade A and a GCSE in French at grade 8, alongside strong A-Level results in English and other humanities subjects. I am passionate about helping students feel more confident, become independent learners and make meaningful progress.

Rates

GCSE tuition: £40 per hour
A-Level tuition: £50 per hour

Introductory Call

I offer a complimentary 10-minute introductory call for parents and students to discuss their goals, identify areas for improvement and find out more about my personalised approach to tutoring. This is an opportunity to ask questions and see whether my teaching style is the right fit for your needs.
