About
I have worked in education for the past 25 years as a fully qualified teacher, and for the past eleven years have worked as a private tutor. I really enjoy working as a tutor and I have supported hundreds of students to prepare for their GCSEs and A Levels and to reach their goals and grades. I have also been an examiner for AQA, Edexcel and CIE for the past thirteen years and I find this really helps me to provide that expert knowledge about what students can do to give themselves the best chance to do well in their exams- whether that is a grade 4 or a grade 9 in GCSE.I also work for two private tutor centres to teach and mark NEAs. I have a huge amount of experience with all the exam boards, as well as expert knowledge of many literature texts.

My daughter really enjoys her lessons with Jacky and her confidence has increased in both Language and Literature as she heads towards her GCSEs this summer. Jacky sets a homework task each week and provides really useful and detailed feedback on this. Jacky has also provided lots of other helpful resources. Overall, we’re really pleased and I recommend Jacky without hesitation.

Jacqueline has been teaching my son for a while and has been enjoying his lessons. He is currently in year 11 and now in the final few months before exams. Although early days, my daughter is thoroughly enjoying her lessons with Jacky. We can already see a difference in her confidence in both GCSE language and literature. She really looks forward to her lessons! Past papers/notes that Jacky provides after each lesson have also been very helpful in supporting my daughter prepare for her mock exams and regularly keeps us informed on her progress. We have found Jacky very accommodating, and always responds quickly to emails. We would highly recommend her.

I've really enjoyed having Jaqueline as my tutor! She make every lesson engaging and easy to follow. I have definitely noticed a big improvement in the quality of my writing, and my mark has been improving in both Language and Literature. I have practiced my essay writing a lot and Jaqueline has been happy to mark every single piece, and she always gets them back to me very quickly with detailed feedback! Jacky is an excellent tutor. Jacky is tutoring both my children for their Literature and Language GCSE exams in 2026. My children both find her to be friendly, approachable and encouraging in her teaching, asking questions that develop their thinking, knowledge and confidence. Jacky is organised and thoughtful in her approach, planning her sessions, as we requested, with her to fit with the curriculum my children are following at school, this has really helped to consolidate their learning. Jacky is knowledgeable about the requirements of different exam boards. When giving my children feedback/ marking their work Jacky, sets out the level to which they have met the numerous assessment objectives of the exam board. In addition, Jacky models what they could have done to improve their answer. Jacky is proactive in her communication and always responds very quickly to my emails. I have found her approachable, confident and willing to discuss the best way to improve and test my children’s knowledge and exam skills. Jacky aways sends an email on the day of my daughters tuition making me aware of what they will be doing in the lesson and is quick to respond to any emails we send to her. Our daughter says Jacky is very knowledgeable on all texts and aware of the objective requirements for exam questions .
