  Fantastic tutor! My son is finally starting to enjoy English A-Level thanks to Tim’s guidance. Not only does he deliver understandable lessons and tell him how to improve in English generally, he also offers useful pieces of wisdom and sets him homework that is engaging and entertaining as well as challenging. I would give him more than 5 stars if possible!

  Tim has been a great help for my son with his English Literature A Level in the few sessions he has had. English is my sons weakest subject and he now looks forward to his sessions with Tim. Tim has been very responsive setting the sessions up and replying to my emails.

  Tim is an excellent tutor who shows great enthusiasm and a has a natural passion for teaching. During the lock down I was very worried about my daughter falling behind; fortunately we found Tim who shows a high level of dedication and commitment .   I found Tim through First Tutors to support my daughter with her A'Level English Literature. Harriet has found Tim extremely helpful in supporting her to maximise her grade - she currently needs to achieve A to get into her chosen University. Tim is very flexible and outside of the tutoring session he is available for email/telephone support. He has worked with Harriet to determine where best to support her and has flexed the lessons to suit Harriet. Tim helps to provoke Harriet's thinking around the subject and is supporting her with exam technique. Harriet is finding the lessons really beneficial and I would recommend Tim if you are looking for support for A'Level students.

  Tim has really boosted Jess's confidence with her English Literature. The additional time spent discussing the literature she is studying is valuable and Tim's approach is encouraging, enthusiastic and stress free. Tim is always punctual, flexible with his times and always arrives well prepared for the lesson. He teaches with understanding and humour and is very approachable. Tim is very accommodating encourging Jess that he is always available via text or phone call outside lesson times for help and advice. He has given Jess the ability to face her A Levels much more prepared, i cant thank him enough. I would not heisitate to recommend Tim to anyone. Thanks so much Tim. Linda

  Toby has enjoyed every tuition session. Tim engages him very easily and makes English inspiring. Tim's post session updates are informative and have inspired us too!   My son was struggling to know what to revise for his GCSE English Literature exam as his own teacher had gone on maternity leave. Tim was so helpful right from the start and knew exactly how to prepare Matt for the exam in a short period of time, both in terms of content and quotations and also In terms of confidence building. Tim took time to get to know Matt and to understand him and Matt consequently found Tim very likeable and wanted to make the most of his time with him. Thanks to Tim, Matt went to his exam armed with all the relevant information and feeling much more relaxed and self assured.

  Tim has now met with Matthew on 3 occasions and right from the start in that he could see Matthew's problems were with exam technique and not ability. He has given Matthew lots of encouragement about his ability which is important when your child has become demoralised. Tim comes with lots of enthusiasm for English which is good to see in such an experienced teacher. He is providing Matthew with specific advice on exam technique and will be doing practice papers with him to help him improve his grades. He knows what the examiners are looking for! Tim is organised, punctual and relates well to both parents and teenagers. He has a friendly manner and sense of humour to put his tutees at ease.

  My son was completely disengaged with both English Language and Literature. He had no confidence and was positive that he would fail both GCSE’s. Tim has encouraged him and built his confidence, which now means that he is keen for his weekly sessions and also believes that he is capable of passing both exams.
