Keith

I've spent five years teaching online, covering KS3, GCSE, IGCSE, and A-Level English Language & Literature, EFL/ESL (B1–C2), Sociology, and Psychology. I teach all major exam boards, including AQA, Edexcel, OCR, and Cambridge IGCSE. I've helped hundreds of students achieve their target grades - frequently raising performance by two or more grades.

My lessons are built around your child, not a generic scheme of work. I take the time to understand how they think and where they get stuck, then pace sessions accordingly - patient, encouraging, and focused on metacognition, so they leave understanding how they think, not just what to write.

That experience is grounded in 20 years across UK secondary and higher education, including a tenure as a Pastoral Dean at the University of York - responsible for the wellbeing of 2,500 students - plus extensive experience supporting SEN students in mainstream classrooms.

I'm an accredited wellbeing coach with qualifications in counseling skills, an NSPCC Designated Safeguarding Officer, and a trained Mental Health First Aider. I work effectively across the spectrum - from students who lack confidence or experience school-related anxiety to high achievers aiming for top grades. Ultimately, both need the same thing: someone who is genuinely paying attention.
