In the few months that Nicola has been tutoring my son, she has already had a very positive impact. She is thorough with feedback, both to my son and myself, and puts in time outside of lessons to mark homework. She has been incredibly helpful at recognising the areas where my son has needed targeted assistance, and continues to stretch him with the homework set.

Nicola is incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about her teaching. My daughter had missed all her English literature lessons (GCSE) due to prolonged illness, and Nicola has picked up right at the end. She is absolutely all over it! She’s focussed my daughter and encouraged her. Although she hadn’t done Blood Brother’s before, she swiftly studied it, did notes, and prep for the lessons! Her commitment is fantastic. She communicates brilliantly with me too, to let me know how things are going. Homework is set and evaluated. It’s a shame my daughter couldn’t have had lessons from Nicola longer, I’m sure her grade would be excellent! I absolutely recommend Nicola as a tutor.

We are really lucky to have met Nicola through First Tutors. She is exceptional. Even though its only 4 weeks that my son (Year 9) has started with her, we can already see his confidence level going up. More than that, it is the method of teaching by Nicola that is making huge difference. She is very well prepared before every lesson and quite meticulous. The tools used by her for teaching and the materials are outstanding. She sets the HW well in advance for him and marks them before the next lesson. Nicola has really engaged well with my son, who has never been a huge fan of English at school. She covers some interesting and thought provoking topics during the tutorials, alongside help with exam technique. As a result, he is now enjoying English and his grades are much improved. My daughter has never been a fan of English. She is doing so much better in English at school now - a result of Nicola's tutoring. Recent mocks have seen a vast improvement, so we are keeping our fingers crossed for GCSEs. Nicola's style is focussed and entirely up to date with curriculums and GCSE changes. It's hard work for a non fan of English, but Nicola's patience and discipline are certainly paying off.

I have been very impressed with Nicola. Her lessons are excellent. She sets weekly homework which is carefully marked and monitored. I have a very anxious child who struggles with English and has already failed his GCSE. My son is also dyslexic. Nicola has proved to be kind, considerate and approachable.
